Greenville Regional Hospital has announced the addition of hand surgeon Lisa Sasso, M.D. to the hospital’s roster of Outpatient Specialty Clinic physicians.  Dr. Sasso is now seeing patients at Greenville Regional Hospital every other Tuesday.

Dr. Sasso practices at the Southern Illinois Hand Center in Effingham, which is the only practice in the area dedicated solely to the care and treatment of the hand and upper extremities.  She will take over the Greenville office hours of Dr. Patrick Stewart, also of the Southern Illinois Hand Center.  Dr. Patrick will still see patients in his Effingham office, while Dr. Sasso will provide care to Stewart’s former patients at Greenville Regional Hospital.

Dr. Sasso’s areas of interest include traumatic and reconstructive hand and wrist surgery, as well as diagnosis and management of work and non-work related problems such as tendonitis and compression neuropathies.

Dr. Sasso specializes in minimally invasive single portal endoscopic carpal tunnel release which requires only one stitch for closure.  She will will treat patients for issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel, trigger thumb/finger, fractures, ligament injuries, arthritis, skin lesion, and more.

After graduating with honors from Loyola University in Chicago, Dr. Sasso attended the Rush University Medical School, also in Chicago.  Dr. Sasso completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago and a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Sasso is a member of the American Medical Association, Chicago Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society, and Utah State Medical Society.
